Description of Human MIP-4 /CCL18

Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-4 Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 69 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 7813 Dalton.

Biological Activity

The Activity MIP-4 is calculated by the ability to chemoattract Human T lymphocytes at 1-10ng/ml corresponding to a Specific Activity of 100,000-1,000,000IU/mg.

Reconstitution

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized MIP-4 in sterile 18M-cm H₂O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Stability

Lyophilized MIP-4 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution MIP-4 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA, order number: 2835.955.xyz or 2835.958.xyz, or BSA, order number: 2835.919.xyz). Please avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Amino Acid Sequence

The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids of MIP-4 was determined and found to be Ala-Gln-Val-Gly-Thr.
