Description of Rat GM-CSF

Recombinant rat Granulocyte Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 128 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 14590.65Da.

 

Biological Activity

The ED₅₀ as calculated by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine FDC-P1 cells is less than 0.01ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 1×108units/mg.

 

Reconstitution

We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in sterile water to a concentration of at least 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. Do not vortex.

 

Stability

Lyophilized Granulocyte Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution GMCSF should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA, order number: 2835.955.xyz or 2835.958.xyz, or BSA, order number: 2835.919.xyz). Please avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
