Description of Human Annexin A5
Recombinant Human Annexin A5 (ANXA5) produced in E.Coli is a non-glycosylated protein consisting of 320 amino acids (1-320 a.a.) with a molecular mass of 35.9 kDa. It is a member of the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins which are involved in membrane-related activity along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways. Annexin A5 (ANXA5) is a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel properties and takes part in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth and differentiation. Annexin A5 (ANXA5) is an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade. Annexin A5 (ANXA5) regulates coagulability in the blood stream by binding to phosphatidylserine and sulfatide. It protects sinusoidal endothelial cells from ischemia reperfusion damage. Annexin A5 (ANXA5) is necessary for normal CFTR chloride channel activity.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA, order number: 2835.955.xyz or 2835.958.xyz, or BSA, order number: 2835.919.xyz). Please avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
