Description of Human Fetuin-A/AHSG (plasma)
Human plasma derived Fetuin A / AHSG is a glycosylated heterodimeric protein having a molecular mass of 49 kDa and can be found in human plasma at concentrations between 40 and 85mg/dl, with reduced concentrations in cancer patients. Fetuin A / AHSG is a human plasma glycoprotein which belongs to the Cystatin family of protease inhibitors. Either Alone or in combination with other Proteins Fetuin A / AHSG can function as cysteine-type endopeptidase inhibitor, endopeptidase inhibitor or kinase inhibitor. Fetuin A / AHSG is highly expressed in embryonic cells and adult hepatocytes and to a lesser extent in monocytes/macrophages. It exerts various calcium-dependent physiological activities and can mediate growth signaling in certain tumor cells. Fetuin A / AHSG can also act as a natural antagonist against specific TGF-β and BMP signaling proteins.

Reconstitution
Please refer to detailed instructions on the lot-specific datasheet. Usually, we recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in sterile Water at a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml, which can then be further diluted into other aqueous or buffered solutions.
Stability
The lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for up to 1 month and at least until the lot specific expiry date if kept below -18°C. Reconstituted Fetuin A / AHSG should be stored in working aliquots at ≤ -20°C. Please avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
