Description of Human HGF, cct-premium (glycosylated, InCs)
Recombinant human Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF) is a 78.0 kDa disulfide-linked heterodimeric protein. HGF is a multifunctional polypeptide that acts in a paracrine fashion on a wide variety of cell types. Human HGF, also know as scatter factor, is a pleiotrophic cytokine that shows homology to the enzymes of the blood coagulation cascade. Hepatocytes have to be primed (e.g. TNF and IL-6) before they can fully respond to HGF. Recent studies suggest that HGF synergizes with FGF-basic in the induction of angiogenesis.
Biological Activity
The ED50 of ≤ 3 ng/ml was determined by scattering activity in MDCK cells in direct comparison with WHO Standard 96/564. It corresponds to a specific activity of ≥ 3.3x105 units/mg.
Reconstitution
The lyophilized HGF, cct-premium is best soluble in 50mM acetic acid. It should be reconstituted to a concentration of 100µg/ml. We recommend that further dilutions should be made into buffer containing carrier protein (e.g. HSA ultra pure, 2835.958.xyz) or medium containing serum.
Stability
The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature for at least 3 weeks, is best stored desiccated below -18°C. Reconstituted HGF, cct-premium should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C to -70°C. Please avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
