Description of Murine IFN-lambda-2 / IL-28A
Recombinant Murine IFN-lambda-2 (IFN-?2) is a 19.7 kDa protein containing 174 amino acid residues. IFN-lambda-1, -2, and -3 (also known as IL-29, IL-28A and IL-28B respectively) are distantly related to the IL-10 family and Interferons. All three IFN-lambdas uses a distinct receptor system composed of an IFN-lambdaR1 subunit (also called CRF2-12) and IL-10R2 subunit (also called CRF2-14). Signaling through this receptor system induces antiviral defense similar but distinct than the type I Interferons. (Kotenko, SV. Et al. Nat Immunology 2003 [1] p. 69-77).
Biological Activity
The ED50 of ≥ 3.3 × 105 IU/mg was determined by an anti-viral assay using human HepG2 cells infected with encephalomyocarditis (EMC) virus is less than 3 ng/ml.
Reconstitution
We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in sterile water to a concentration of at least 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. Do not vortex.
Stability
Lyophilized IFN-Lambda 2 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution IFN-Lambda 2 Recombinant should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA, order number: 2835.955.xyz or 2835.958.xyz, or BSA, order number: 2835.919.xyz). Please avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
