Description of Human ENA-78 / CXCL5 (5-78aa)

Epithelial Neutrophil-Activating Protein 78 Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 74 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 8020 Dalton.

Biological Activity

The biological activity was determined by measuring the dose dependent mobilization of intracellular calcium (calcium flux) with human neutrophils. Significant calcium mobilization is observed with 100ng/mL (corresponding to a Specific Activity of 10,000IU/mg) of recombinant human ENA-78.

Reconstitution

We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in sterile water to a concentration of at least 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions. Do not vortex.

Stability

Lyophilized ENA78 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CXCL5 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA, order number: 2835.955.xyz or 2835.958.xyz, or BSA, order number: 2835.919.xyz). Please avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Amino Acid Sequence

The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be, Ala- Ala -Val-Leu-Arg.
