Description of Murine TGF-beta 3
Recombinant murine TGF-beta 3 produced in E. coli is a homodimeric, disulfide-linked, non-glycosylated protein containing two 113 aa chains with a total molecular mass of 25.7 kDa. So far three TGF-betas have been identified in mammals, they mediate many cell-cell interactions that occur during embryonic development. TGF-beta 1, TGF-beta 2 and TGF-beta 3 are each synthesized as very similar precursor proteins. Each is cleaved to yield a 112 aa protein that remains associated with the latent portion of the molecule.
Biological Activity
The biological activity of murine TGF-beta 3 was shown by ist ability to induce chondrogenic differentiation.
Stability
Recombinant murine TGF-beta 3 is stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, but best stored at 4°C. For long term storage we recommend the addition of a carrier protein ( e.g. 0.1% HSA or BSA).
